Jacob’s Well Natural Area

Jacob’s Well and the surrounding area are now managed by the County as a public natural area. An underground cave and artesian springs form a beautiful, but small, pool in the natural area. On most Saturdays, they offer a guided tour that discusses the hydrologic features of the well.

This forms the headwaters of the beautiful Cypress Creek that flows through Wimberley. This is a great place to bring the kids to learn about the local natural environment and to cool off in the icy water. However, you must ensure that the water is flowing at a reasonable rate in order to fully enjoy the area, so call ahead of time to check on the conditions.
